Maintenance Worker

Maintenance WorkerAramark Facilities Management is hiring a Maintenance Worker / Maintenance Technician to support the repair, maintenance, and safe operation of commercial facilities throughout Mecklenburg County, NC. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates with experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, HVAC support, electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, or general handyman work. The Maintenance Worker will complete preventive maintenance, respond to work orders, troubleshoot building systems, and perform repairs to keep facilities operating efficiently. Work is performed in active commercial environments and requires the safe use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipment. The position offers $22.00-$24.00 per hour, with opportunities to develop skills across multiple building trades while providing excellent service to clients and building occupants. Successful candidates are dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently while managing multiple maintenance tasks.Job Responsibilities:Perform preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and facility infrastructureComplete assigned work orders accurately and on schedule using the maintenance management system (Archibus or similar)Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and mechanical issuesRepair and maintain doors, locks, windows, ceilings, flooring, drywall, and other building componentsPerform basic carpentry, painting, patchwork, and general building repairsReplace ceiling tiles, light fixtures, air filters, belts, and other facility componentsConduct routine facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concernsRespond to emergency maintenance requests and urgent repair situationsSafely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other maintenance equipmentAssist with furniture moves, office reconfigurations, and facility improvement projectsMaintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and work order documentationCoordinate with contractors and vendors during maintenance and repair projectsMaintain a clean, organized maintenance shop, work area, and company vehicleParticipate in on-call or after-hours emergency response when assignedFollow OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, company safety policies, and PPE requirementsDeliver professional customer service while interacting with building occupants, clients, and team membersQualifications Required:2+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, commercial maintenance, or a related tradeWorking knowledge of electrical, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and general mechanical repairsAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipmentExperience completing preventive maintenance and corrective repair workStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to read, understand, and complete work orders and maintenance documentationAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling throughout the workdayAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesCommitment to workplace safety and following OSHA and PPE requirementsWillingness to work flexible schedules and respond to after-hours emergency calls when assignedPreferred:Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as ArchibusExperience in commercial facilities, healthcare, education, manufacturing, or industrial environmentsTrade-related certifications in HVAC, electrical, maintenance, or building operationsValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
