Veterinary Technician - Emergency

Overview Emergency Veterinary Technician position at Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists - Mansfield. Location: Mansfield, TX. Shift: Overnights/Night Shift. Responsibilities As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, provide hands-on care to critical patients under veterinary supervision. Support veterinarians during emergency exams, treatments, and procedures. Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency surgeries and post-operative care. Provide emergency nursing care and first aid to injured or recovering patients. Prepare patients and surgical instruments for procedures. Monitor and interpret vital signs, including blood pressure, ECG, SpO₂, and EtCO₂. Collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostics. Operate digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Accurately document patient histories and medical records. Maintain clean, sterile, and organized treatment, exam, and lab areas. Mentor and support fellow technicians and assistants. What We’re Looking For Required Experience & Skills Minimum 1+ years of emergency veterinary technician experience. ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged. Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting skills. Experience with post-operative and emergency patient care. Ability to assess patient condition and respond in fast-paced situations.
