What You’ll Do Position Summary The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides physician support to ensure the clinic operates smoothly while delivering patient care. The CMA performs administrative and clinical tasks including maintaining records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians, and handling front‑desk responsibilities. Responsibilities Assist in developing guidelines and training curricula for medical assistants. Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture, IM/PO medication administration per provider order. Conduct minor procedures such as wound care, suture and staple removal. Assist with in‑room diagnostic testing (X‑ray, US, etc.). Take vitals, update patient medical history, record chief complaints and changes in health status. Perform gap closure activities (foot exam, DRE, etc.). Review provider orders and patient referrals, and discuss normal or stable lab results. Forward any concerns to the provider and support remote patient monitoring. Reinforce patient understanding of and adherence to care plans. Respond to patient calls or messages the same day. Collaborate with medical assistants, transitions of care team, chronic care team, and other multidisciplinary members to ensure continuity of care. Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director and medical provider. What You’ll Bring Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills. Bilingual/Bicultural proficiency in English and Spanish. Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent (required). Certification in Medical Assisting from AAMA, CCMA, or another nationally recognized body (required). Active ACLS or BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 7 days of start). Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and medical terminology knowledge. Prior experience in a specific medical field is preferred.
