Winchester Electric Service is seeking a Generator Technician to join our expanding team operating in a 50 mile radius from our Winchester Virginia location.
If you are highly skilled, or want to become skilled in troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing critical power equipment, YOU may be just who we are looking for!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine oil changes, filter replacements, and battery checks.
• Troubleshooting: Use multimeters to find electrical or mechanical faults in engines and control panels.
• Load-Bank Testing: Apply artificial electrical loads to a generator to test its maximum capacity.
• Repairs: Replace worn-out parts like alternators, fuel pumps, and hoses.
• Record Keeping: Log maintenance tasks and write detailed service reports for customers using various forms of technology.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED. Trade school or automotive/electrical training is a major plus.
• Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Generac, John Deere, Cummins, and/or Caterpillar engine training is also a plus. Training on Automatic Transfer Switches, is also a bonus!
• Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varied weather.
