Lubrication TechnicianSMS Mill Services, LLC is a leader in the steel mill services industry prioritizing recycling and environmental/workers' safety and handling all operations with integrity. SMS is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Lubrication Technician for its Mill Services site in Mingo Junction, Ohio. This is a 24/7 operation; located on steel mill property.Responsibilities:Draining the oil from a heavy equipment and replacing it to manufacturer specificationsTopping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluidInspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issuesChecking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specificationsInstalling new parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteriesLubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicingDiagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the equipment issuesCreating detailed service reportsQualifications:An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repairDemonstrated experience with servicing vehiclesA valid drivers license and the ability to work legally in the USPassing a drug screening and criminal background checkTime management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordinationEffective communication and customer service skillsThe ability to read and follow complex directions in manuals as well as relay information in reportsThe physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 poundsSafety:Adhere to all local, state, OSHA, environmental and site-specific regulations.Perform and document daily safety checks, follow all safety rules, wear PPE, provide a safe environment for all employees and visitors.What we can Offer:A comprehensive compensation package including bonuses and benefits.Ability to make a difference and lasting impact.Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.Opportunities to grow and learn with the industry.Schedule:Day shiftWorking overtime on weekdays and weekendsPAY = $23/ hourSMS Mill Services, LLC is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
