Cardiac SonographerPerforms diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures of high complexity to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with policies, values and mission of the organization. Responsible for all commonly performed echocardiography procedures in the department with a high level of competence. In addition to those performed by lower levels, performs: adult congenital heart echocardiograms, cardiac research projects. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orient other staff to the department.Education: Graduation from an accredited Cardiac Sonography ProgramCertification & Licensure:BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider2 of the following:RCS (CCI)-Registered Cardiac SonographerACS (CCI) - Advanced Cardiac SonographerARDMS - RDCS(AE) - AdultARDMS - RDCS(PE) - PediatricARDMS - RDCS(FE) - FetalARDMS - RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist (allowed for those who entered this job prior to 06/17/2024)OR Performs one of the following:Acquisition and post processing high complexity 3D/4D imaging and strain imagingImaging pre and post structural heart transthoracic echocardiogramsLeft ventricular Assist Device and ECMO ImagingCardiac transplant patientsAdult congenital patientsInvolvement in cardiac research projects that incorporate echocardiographyVascular modalities in addition to cardiac imagingCardiac MRI acquisition and analysisRequired Experience:5 years recent relevant experience.Skills and Knowledge:Advanced knowledge of diagnostic cardiac sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including substantial experience responding to traumas, code blues, medical alerts, STAT calls, and various hospital emergencies.Skilled in performing cardiac sonographic examinations with an extensive understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology so as to recognize, prioritize and communicate suspicious or abnormal results.Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.Exceptional time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.Robust knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS).Prioritize activities and work within defined policies, procedures, and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines; help determine appropriate approach for new assignments.Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.Use experience and existing precedents or procedures to resolve atypical or infrequent problems; provide informal guidance and support to junior team members.Ensure the privacy of each patient's PHI.Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.Job Shift: DaysSchedule: Full TimeShift Hours: 10Days of the Week: Monday - FridayWeekend Requirements: As NeededBenefits: YesUnions: NoPosition Status: Non-ExemptWeekly Hours: 40Employee Status: RegularSutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.Pay Range is $68.08 to $95.30 / hour
