Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients to evaluate the severity, frequency, and impact of mood disorder symptoms.

  • Collaborate with clients to design individualized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, preferences, and goals.
  • \n
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate meaningful progress.

  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families, informing them about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
  • \n
  • Continuously monitor client progress and modify treatment plans in response to their evolving needs and feedback.
  • \n
  • Engage with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure an integrated approach to care.
  • \n
  • Stay informed about the latest research on mood disorders and treatment modalities to enhance therapeutic approaches.
  • \n
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate clinical documentation in line with legal and ethical standards.
  • \n
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and pursue ongoing professional development opportunities.

  • Actively advocate for clients to mitigate mental health stigma and promote wellness in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on supporting individuals grappling with mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will work with clients from various backgrounds, including those facing homelessness, refugees adjusting to new environments, and victims of domestic abuse. Your empathetic approach and understanding of diverse experiences will be essential in building trust and rapport with clients who may be dealing with significant emotional turmoil.

  • Must hold a valid and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
