Plastic Surgery Physician (MD/DO) - UNC Rex Hospital

Position North Carolina Surgery is seeking a full‑time BE/BC Plastic Surgeon to join their growing Plastic Surgery team with a focus on Breast Reconstruction. A strong interest in reconstructive plastic surgery and community‑based plastic surgery is highly desirable. Opportunity Practice focus on implant‑based and oncoplastic breast reconstruction with opportunities for cosmetic and general reconstruction (no microsurgical reconstruction). Development of malignant soft‑tissue reconstructive practice and post‑bariatric body contouring. Robust referral base supporting a high‑volume breast reconstruction practice with continued growth anticipated. Based in Raleigh with coverage of UNC Rex Holly Springs Hospitals and surgeries performed at UNC Rex Hospitals. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Plastic Surgery required. Demonstrated experience in reconstructive plastic surgery and breast reconstruction strongly preferred. Shared weekend/night call coverage, predictable schedule with shared call and limited emergent trauma exposure. No teaching expectations. Ideal Candidate A collaborative, patient‑centered BE/BC Plastic Surgeon with a passion for breast reconstruction, comfort working with a multidisciplinary team approach, and interest in serving a diverse community‑based patient population. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of medicine. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (BE/BC). Board Certainty in Plastic Surgery preferred. North Carolina Medical License, DEA license, BLS/ACLS certification preferred. U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency required. Strong communication skills in English. High‑level quantitative and qualitative reasoning ability to diagnose medical and clinical issues. Physical ability to sit for extended periods, use hands, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
