Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for oncology PCU patients, including stabilization, symptom management, and comfort measures.
- Monitor patient status with ongoing assessments; document findings and escalate changes per protocol.
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, follow oncologic care plans, and manage associated side effects.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, pharmacists, and other team members to implement and adjust the plan of care; participate in discharge planning.
- Ensure patient safety and infection control; maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and families about treatments, expected outcomes, potential side effects, and post-discharge care.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the oncology/step-down or intermediate care specialty.
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Certification required.
- Experience in a step-down or intermediate care setting.
- Ability to work the specified shift and assignment in the Progressive Care Unit.
