Urgent Care Veterinarian – Pet Urgent Care Location: La Mesa, California This position is ideal for a general practice veterinarian or an emergency veterinarian who wants a predictable schedule and a manageable workload while still addressing complex cases. You will perform reliable walk‑in, outpatient care for pets with non‑life‑threatening conditions that need prompt veterinary attention. Responsibilities Provide walk‑in and scheduled care for non‑life‑threatening conditions such as lacerations, limping or painful pets, hypersensitivity reactions, vomiting and/or diarrhea without significant dehydration, ear infections causing discomfort, urinary tract infections, laceration repair, non‑obstructed FLUTD/FUS patients, and similar conditions. Attend to cases referred by general practice veterinarians that cannot be seen promptly, ensuring they fall within the urgent‑care scope of services. Maintain close communication with primary veterinarians to coordinate ongoing patient care. Collaborate with a pet‑loving team, upholding values of integrity, trust, safety, inclusion, and compassion. Operate during the hospital’s hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, serving patients from La Mesa, El Cajon, Del Cerro, San Carlos, Spring Valley, Lemon Grove, and Mount Helix. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) or equivalent degree. State Veterinary Board license in good standing for the state of employment, prior to start date. Active DEA license or eligibility for a DEA license. Compensation Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, with a full‑time annual range starting at $150,000. The final salary will consider your qualifications, experience, and location.
