Portfolio Strategy and Governance Lead

A global insurance and financial services organization is seeking a Portfolio Strategy & Governance Lead to strengthen its enterprise technology portfolio management capabilities.
This individual will establish consistent governance practices, support adoption of strategic portfolio platforms, align business objectives with technology delivery, and give leadership better visibility into investments, progress, and results.
The successful candidate combines enterprise portfolio management experience with practical implementation skills, executive communication, financial understanding, and cross-functional influence.
Responsibilities
- Establish enterprise technology portfolio governance processes and standards.
- Implement and promote adoption of strategic portfolio management tools.
- Standardize initiative intake, KPIs, objectives, and completion criteria.
- Align product owner roadmaps with strategic priorities and delivery execution.
- Define and enforce Agile and Jira governance practices.
- Connect technology initiatives with financial planning, forecasting, and capacity management.
- Produce meaningful executive reporting on initiative progress and business outcomes.
- Coach teams on portfolio processes and support organizational adoption.
- Document repeatable governance processes and standards.
Role Requirements
- Experience implementing enterprise technology portfolio governance frameworks.
- Hands-on portfolio management platform implementation or adoption experience.
- Strong Agile governance and Jira management knowledge.
- Executive reporting and business-outcome measurement experience.
- Knowledge of technology portfolio budgeting, forecasting, and capitalization.
- Experience building portfolio controls, standards, objectives, and KPIs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder influence.
- Ability to work effectively within a short-term, high-impact engagement.
- Ability to work onsite in NYC four days per week.

- Atlassian Focus, Talent, Goals, or Jira Align experience.
- Office of the CIO, EPMO, or Transformation Office background.
- Insurance or financial services experience.
