The Commercialization Strategy team is part of Mastercard’s Open Finance & Developers Experience division and brings to life our vision of empowering consumers to benefit from their own financial data. We are passionate about creating solutions that unlock innovation and streamline everyday consumer experiences. The team is a key driver helping to scale Mastercard’s business globally.
Role
- Drive API‑first commercialization decisioning across new product development lifecycle, ensuring APIs are evaluated early and embedded as the default delivery model where applicable.
- Establish and operate a Developer Experience commercialization internal consulting desk, providing:
- centralized intake and early engagement for new solutions
- structured guidance across Studio stages to embed commercialization thinking into product design and development
- Partner closely with Services Pricing & Commercialization and Product organizations to:
- align on commercialization paths and governance
- ensure consistency and discipline across API monetization decisions
- align with product organizations a pipeline to prioritize and drive growth
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Pricing & Commercialization, and Channel Partnership to operationalize commercialization paths.
- Define and track a KPI framework for Developer Experience commercialization and iterate commercialization strategies based on data‑driven insights.
- Champion a test‑and‑learn culture, using experimentation to optimize messaging, positioning, and channel strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Significant past experience in commercialization strategy, pricing, and business modeling in a global enterprise environment.
- Proven success in driving commercialization outcomes, not just strategy, with ability to translate visions into executionable, revenue‑generating paths.
- Analytical and structured thinker with experience in API‑led usage‑based economics, KPI design, and performance tracking; capable of identifying high‑impact opportunities from fragmented data.
- Strong ability to operate in ambiguous, cross‑functional environments and influence and facilitate alignment across multiple stakeholders.
- Passion for improving developer experience and driving innovation through APIs.

Pay range (New York): $179,000 - $305,000 USD.
