OverviewAtlas Fibre is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support our growing machining operation in Northbrook, IL. We specialize in composite laminates and high-performance plastic components, producing complex, high-precision parts across a variety of industries.This position is ideal for an experienced manufacturing professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and working directly with production teams. The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in supporting daily operations, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, improving throughput, and developing robust machining processes.What You'll DoProvide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support to production operationsTroubleshoot machining, quality, tooling, fixturing, and process-related issuesDevelop and improve machining processes for composite and plastic componentsCreate and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam as neededDesign and implement workholding, fixtures, and manufacturing solutionsLead root cause investigations and corrective actions for production and quality issuesWork closely with machinists, programmers, quality personnel, and management to improve manufacturing performanceDevelop setup sheets, work instructions, process documentation, and engineering standardsSupport new product introduction (NPI) activities and transition projects into productionAssist with equipment validation, process capability studies, and continuous improvement initiativesEvaluate manufacturing risks and implement practical solutions to improve quality and efficiencyWhat We're Looking ForRequired5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering, CNC Programming, or related experiencesStrong understanding of CNC machining processesExperience with Mastercam or similar CAM softwareAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD modelsWorking knowledge of GD&T and inspection methodsExperience troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issuesStrong understanding of tooling and machining fundamentalsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environmentPreferred (Not Required)Experience machining plastics, composites, or engineered materialsFamiliarity with Vericut or similar simulation softwareExperience with fixture design and workholding developmentExperience with Renishaw probing systems and machine calibrationExposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience with multi-axis machining (4-axis and 5-axis)Knowledge of process validation, capability studies, and statistical analysisExperience supporting NPI and production launchesWhy Join Atlas FibreWork on challenging, high-precision components made from advanced materialsDirectly influence manufacturing performance, quality, and production efficiencyJoin a collaborative team where engineering plays a key role in operational successOpportunity to solve complex manufacturing challenges and implement meaningful improvementsGrowing company with expanding capabilities and long-term opportunities for advancementCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $125,000-$150,000 (based on experience and skill level)401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, and life insurancePaid time off and company holidays (PTO is accrued)Ongoing training and professional development opportunitiesSchedule & LocationFull-TimeOn-SiteMonday – FridayDay ShiftAdditional InformationMust be authorized to work in the U.S.Equal Opportunity EmployerAtlas Fibre is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
