SUMMARY:  Perform housekeeping duties to ensure the quality and cleanliness of Optimum Health

Institute’s facilities in adherence with the mind, body, and spiritual programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform housekeeping duties to ensure high quality of cleanliness and functionality of the facilities at Optimum Health Institute in adherence with the body, mind, and spirit programs.

CUSTOMER SERVICE DUTIES:

• Greet each guest in a cheerful and courteous
• Respond to guest requests immediately or personally take them to those that can help them with their request or take them to the place of interest.
• Return lost and found items to the housekeeping department office immediately for proper handling and safekeeping.

OPERATIONAL DUTIES:

Guest Rooms

• Clean guest rooms according to OHI standards:
• Make
• Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies using wheeled
• Stock and maintain maids' carts for housekeeping supplies and room
• Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens writing supplies and bathroom
• Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal
• Dust window blinds, tables and countertop areas, furniture, and
• Polish furniture and
• Sweep, scrub, and/or polish floors, using brooms and
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum
• Disinfect bathrooms, counters, toilets, sinks, showers, and tubs using
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork and wax as

Common Areas

• Clean public areas including hallways, wheatgrass room, lobbies, lounges, corridors, stairways, administrative offices, restrooms, and other work areas.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and
• Sweep and dust common
• Remove debris, pick up trash and upkeep
• Polish metalwork such as fixtures in common
• Report any safety hazards and report/request maintenance items to be fixed in rooms and common areas for maintenance.
• Set up cushions for outside lawn
• Set up and break down training rooms for classes and prepare rooms for meetings, arrange
• Observe precautions required to protect facilities and guest property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.

Laundry

• Perform laundry responsibilities such as sorting, counting, folding, and carrying
• Sort clothing, towels, bed sheets, and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items.

SAFETY DUTIES:

• Follow and adhere to all safety standards and policies or
• Attend training for proper safety

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

EDUCATION:  some high school coursework or a general education degree (GED) is preferred but not required. 8th grade English level.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years of hotel/resort housekeeping
• Experience following hotel procedures for making beds, dusting, and cleaning
• Must know how to make beds, dust, and clean a bathroom with approved
• Push a fully loaded housekeeping cart weighing 75 without injury.

COMPUTER SKILLS:  None.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to speak English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organization and assist guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
