Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company. Position Description The Environmental Services (EVS) Floor Care Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Agency facility and its outlying buildings in order to provide a clean, sanitary and attractive environment for clients, visitors and employees. Responsibilities Determine accurate equipment and supplies needed to clean and maintain floors. Strip, wax, scrub and recoat floors. Vacuum and shampoo carpets. Buff and maintain hard floors. Keep equipment clean and in sound working condition. Dust mop the floor for any loose debris and remove any gum residue. Use specific chemical solutions crafted for flooring equipment. Use accurate chemical dilution ratios according to manufacturer specifications. Ensure no residue is left on the baseboard and kick plates or stainless-steel surfaces. Use caution signs or caution tape appropriately when performing any project work that can result in a personal injury. Remove trash and mop floors as advised. Report the need for maintenance repairs to the Director of Environmental Services. Communicate with clients and employees in a positive and professional manner. Work closely with and maintain routine contact with Supervisor to improve customer service. Ensure adherence to standard precaution practices and accurate infection control procedures. Store and secure all equipment, tools, cleaning supplies and chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations. Work with fellow employees as a team participant. Ensure storage room doors are closed and always locked. Remain in their assigned work area for the duration of their shift. Close and lock all doors and windows and turn off lights before exiting a building.
