Job Title: Optical & Hardware Test Technician (Eng. Multi-Discipline Technician III)

Work hours: 8AM- 4PM Mon-Fri

Day to Day Responsibilities:

·       Assist in performing set up and performance verification of fiber optic testing system

·       Configure product samples for environmental and mechanical testing

·       Perform optical measurements using manual or automated test systems

·       Program and operate environmental chambers and test equipment

·       Setup/perform and track/report progress of testing as directed

·       Document test results from optical fiber component testing as per documented procedures

·       Conduct basic data analysis

·       Draft test reports in the proper format and filed accordingly

·       Assist in conducting failure mode analysis

·       Perform basic troubleshooting/problem solving

·       Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

Required Skills:

·       Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

·       At least 1-2 years of experience in laboratory environment.

·       Ability to complete assignments accurately and at a pre-defined schedule

·       Detail oriented

·       Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

·       Written/verbal communication skills

·       Hands-on technical skills using test and measuring equipment

Desired Skills:

·       Highly motivated and work as a “self-starter”

·       Willingness to learn

Education/Experience:

·       High School diploma minimum

Additional Requirements:

·       Candidates must have good eyesight.

·       Must have ability to handle very small, delicate parts.

·       Must be a quick learner and have confidence in their ability

Hiring Manager Notes:

·       Laboratory environment - Hardware based, Telecommunication side would be ideal and if doing product development

·       Any kind of Hardware/Equipment Testing 

·       Optical Fiber would be good but not required

·       Precision Manufacturing

·       MS Excel

·       Mechanical Aptitude

·       Attention to Details

·       Good Eye-sight

·       1-2 years exp. would be preferrable

·       Contract only, not going to convert in Fulltime

·       Datacenter/Desktop Technician could be great for this role, if they are good at Fiber Optics.
