Electrical Design and Test Engineer Battery/Power

Job Description – Electrical Design and Test Engineer Battery/Power (ADV000CP6) Electrical Design and Test Engineer responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting battery and power systems for the International Space Station, Orion, and Commercial Crew spacecraft. Works closely with hardware and software teams to produce technical drawings, procedures, and test fixtures. Responsibilities Provide support in design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware and software. Create hardware and software system design drawings and installation procedures. Design unique test fixtures and methods for advanced development test programs. Support the Energy Systems Test Area with electrical engineering design, test, and maintenance functions. Maintain technical excellence in test setups, development setups, and documentation. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Required Education/Experience/Skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field. Familiarity with standard electrical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. Experience in electrical design and troubleshooting, including creation of drawings and procedures. Proficiency with electrical test equipment (voltmeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies). Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Experience planning and establishing work priorities. Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Requisition Preferences BS with 5 years related experience, or MS with 4 years, or Ph.D. with 0 years. Experience with National Instruments LabView and Diadem. Experience with CAD, instrumentation, data acquisition, and controls. Experience with FPGA and real‑time data acquisition and control systems. Exposure to thermal and vacuum environments. Essential Functions A typical work environment is an office setting, but tasks may involve inside or outside work depending on the assignment.
