Must-Have: Proven experience managing patient care in a medical surgical and telemetry environment.

Description: The position involves care for patients in a medical surgical and telemetry unit. The main patient population includes trauma surgery, post-bariatric surgery, abdominal surgery, amputations, and urological issues. Overflow medical and cardiac patients may also be assigned. Ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:7 depending on census and staffing levels. Every other weekend and every other holiday are required for scheduling. Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility. Travelers are expected to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Charting experience with Cerner is a necessity. Travelers must complete up to 8 hours of training modules prior to the start of the assignment. Behavior and professional conduct must meet expectations, as violations may result in contract termination.
