THIS POSITION IS FOR OUR PUNTA GORDA OFFICE WITH TRAINING AND OCCASIONAL TRAVEL TO OUR FTM OFFICE BEING REQUIRED.

Requirements

WHAT POWERS YOUR SUCCESS:

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years of retail optician / dispensing experience required
• Knowledge of vision insurance plans, eligibility, and authorizations
• Experience or knowledge of EMR systems
• Passionate desire to be a part of a growing organization and contribute to the overall success of the team
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, staff, and doctors
• Working knowledge of proper sales techniques
• Being able to advise patients on proper frame design, fit, and performance

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform prescription analysis such as interpreting and transposing.
• Provide patient education regarding lens materials, products, and designs.
• Make recommendations to patients regarding proper eyeglass frame selection and fit
• Adjust/repair frames. Including proper alignment of frame, comfortable fit, functional vision
• Perform accurate measurements of lens power, pupillary distance, multifocal segment height, lens base curve, vertex distance, and prism power.
• Order custom lens products from wholesale optical laboratories, monitor process, post charges, and bill insurance when needed.
• Order contact lenses for patients based on prescriptionInstruct patients on proper contact lens care, insertion, and removal.
• Verify lens prescriptions of ordered lenses and check for accuracyAssist in wholesale purchasing of frames and other products for resale to patients.
• Maintain product displaysPromote products and services of elective programs within Collins Vision
