Responsibilities Provide leadership for the HIM team at one or more sites within Adventist Health. Monitor compliance with key HIM indicators to support enterprise objectives. Set and enforce policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure timely and accurate operations. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement data content standards, data mapping, and documentation to support quality data and accurate coding for payment purposes. Investigate data variability issues to quantify impact and identify solutions. Monitor data and metric reports and respond to ensure department goals are achieved. Contribute to design, implementation, training, and ongoing evaluation of electronic health records (EHR) to support high-quality data collection at the point of care. Lead abstracting and retrieval of medical data used for evaluation, planning, or research in health care and health-related programs. Address disagreements by seeking all perspectives and facilitating resolutions. Delegate work with clear expectations and follow-up to overcome roadblocks. Identify associate and team priorities based on business direction and adjust as needed. Lead by example and share knowledge to develop associates and teams. Create a respectful work environment with advocacy for the team, accountability, and recognition of accomplishments. Provide timely feedback to encourage success and accountability, and identify opportunities for team development. Identify the right talent to achieve desired results. Conducts recurring quality assurance audits and provides coaching sessions and performance reviews against set benchmarks. Ensures workflows and team members address accounts in work queues in a timely manner per industry standards. Focuses on continuous improvement with leadership across the health system to deliver high-quality service. Provides support for Human Resources guidance. Manages department budget.
