Marketing SpecialistWe are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled Marketing Specialist to help us in our overall marketing efforts. This person will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets from brand awareness to product promotion. Strong candidates for the Marketing Specialist position are competent professionals who are able to grasp consumer behavior trends and generate creative ideas. They are also well-versed in specialized marketing concepts, principles and tactics. The goal is to deliver effective marketing programs that will help our reputation and growth.Additionally this person has the proven ability to write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals, apply their knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach fundraising goals, manage fundraising compliance and reporting, and collaborate with team members to assist with the acquisition of large grants, both public and private, local and national.To ensure success, this person must be committed to the mission and vision of One City Schools. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players.Performance responsibilities include:Conduct market research to find answers about consumer requirements, habits and trendsBrainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaignsAssist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, advertising, events planning etc.)Work with the Events Manager to liaise with external vendors to execute promotional events and campaignsCollaborate with marketing and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing effortsPlan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, e-mail, television, radio etc.)Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategiesUndertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assignedCollaborate with the External Relations team on execution of the entire grant process, including: research and identification of grants, local and national, public and private; ensuring compliance and reporting requirements are met; working with the accounting team to obtain funds from reimbursable grants.Leadership qualities include:Model One City's Habits of Character: integrity, self-respect, compassion, perseverance and a willingness to encourage and allow scholars to take risks;Maintain appropriate work habits, including punctual, consistent attendance and appropriate use of planning time;Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues while demonstrating commitment to teamwork;Strive to communicate the positive aspects of One City Schools to the public in word and deed;Help maintain a clean, orderly and welcoming educational environment and facility;At all times and shows grace and support when engaging children, parents and guests who utilize or visit One City;Demonstration of excellence with judgment, decision making, problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset;Energetic, flexible and open-minded; a willingness to embrace strategic change based on best interests of our scholars;Self-reflective and proactive with a growth mindset, including the desire to receive and give feedback.Role specific qualifications include:Proven experience as marketing specialist or similar roleThorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methodsDemonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and toolsSolid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite & CRM) and applications (Web analytics, Google Adwords etc.)Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web development tools (e.g. Dreamweaver) desiredWell-organized and detail orientedExceptional communication and writing skillsCommercial awareness partnered with a creative mindBS/BA in marketing, communications or equivalentBasic qualifications and requirements include:Strong commitment to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of One City.Commitment to working with children from diverse racial/cultural populations and their families, experience preferred.Ability to regularly and routinely lift and push at least 50 pounds.Completion of a background check required.What we offer team members: compensation and evaluationOne City offers salaries and wages that are competitive within our local market and area public schools, as well as comprehensive benefits to all full-time employees.
