The Career Bound (CB) Manager implements, manages, and facilitates Career Bound, a college and workforce readiness program within their assigned Club, focused primarily on helping high school members achieve on-time graduation, and fully prepare them to pursue their college or career plans. The CB Manager creates an inclusive Academic, Career and College Readiness culture with Club leadership, staff and members. In reporting to the College and Career Readiness Program Director, the CB Manager helps to inform the continued evolution and expansion of the CB program, together with the entire CB team. The CB Manager ensures timely outcome measurement according to contractual agreements associated with a diverse portfolio of grants. The CB Manager recruits and supervises, a Part-time Career Bound Teacher, and part-time Teen Specialist, along with AmeriCorps Volunteer Members, and assists with the supervision of the assigned number of Jr. Counselors during the summer. The CB Manager co-reports to the Executive Club Director as part of managing the daily operations of the Club.

Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):

• Guides members in career and college exploration, developing their Personalized Academic and Career Plans By working at 2–3 feeder high schools during the school day and engaging students at the Club in the afternoons and evenings
• Ensures members engage in post-secondary preparation, completion and submission of college applications and FAFSA submissions with a target of 50 members completion rate per year.
• Hires and supervises Career Bound Teachers, ensuring they provide individualized and group academic support, monitor student progress, support graduation planning, deliver college and career readiness programming, provide SAT/ACT preparation and essay writing instruction, assist members with college applications, FAFSA, and scholarship identification and applications, offer academic and postsecondary planning, and document member services and outcomes.
• Hires and supervises part-time Teen Specialist who delivers teen programming and assists in achieving the organization’s goals for teen engagement and program outcomes.
• Organizes and leads 3-5 college/career tours, delivers BGCA curricula, and implements Team Teen Critical Mentoring program.
• Develops and implements a Annual, Quarter and Monthly Teen Program Calendar, promoting cross-club collaboration and engagement across teen-serving sites.
• Recruits & manages 5-10 Youth Volunteer Corps, Keystone Club (7-10 members), Youth of the Year competition with 3-5 candidates, and graduation celebrations. Recruits 5-7 AmeriCorps members.
• Hires and assists with the supervision of the Club's assigned Jr. Counselors during Summer Camp.
• Recruits and supervises AmeriCorps Volunteers assigned to support the CB program in collaboration with Impact Director of Youth Advancement.
• Conducts or cohosts quarterly workshops for teens and families on financial literacy, college planning, FAFSA completion, scholarship opportunities, career readiness, and other youth development topics as needed.
• Ensures members successfully transition into post-secondary pathways (college, career, or military), meeting or exceeding annual site-based placement targets established by the organization.
• Tracks and supports member placement outcomes, including college enrollment, workforce entry, and military enlistment, with goals adjusted based on site size and program capacity.
• Manages program & project-specific budget(s), following a pre-determined spending schedule.
• Maintains a universal system of outcome measurement processes, including collecting members’ academic records, report card grades, attendance, pre and post-tests, surveys, and any additional items necessary to provide evidence of measurable outcomes.
• Works with the School District, staff and members to collect members’ progress reports and final report cards at the end of grading periods.
• Uses program data to monitor progress toward performance goals and implement strategies to improve recruitment, attendance, retention, and postsecondary outcomes.
• Participates in collective impact initiatives and community partnerships that advance college, career, and workforce readiness (e.g., Achieve Palm Beach County, Birth to 22, School District of Palm Beach County College and Career Readiness initiatives, district college and career fairs, workforce development partnerships, and local postsecondary and employer collaborations).
• Serves as the content expert or project lead for core CB component or special projects, as assigned by the College and Career Readiness Program Director. These include Youth of the Year program, Jr. Staff Summer Employment, Critical Mentoring, College Tours, College & Career Resource Fairs, Speakers Series and Internship Placements, College Signing Day, Graduation Celebrations, Teen Summits, College Signing Day, Graduation Celebrations, Teen Summits, Student Success Check-Ins, career and industry tours, FAFSA and scholarship campaigns, service-learning initiatives, and other college and career readiness initiatives as assigned.
• Supports other CB Managers serving as project leads.
• Develops universal and club specific Teen Program Monthly Calendar and distributes across all Teen-Serving clubs, promoting Cross-Club collaboration.
• Remains informed about BGCA workforce readiness, family, and service-learning initiatives by routinely accessing and remains apprised of current research in these fields.

Key Performance Expectations:

The Career Bound Manager is expected to meet or support the following annual performance targets based on assigned Club(s) and organizational goals:

• Outreach & Teen Recruitment: Meet assigned outreach goals of 100 youth contacts per site and support system-wide outreach goals established by the organization.
• Teen Membership: Achieve 300+ registered teen members per assigned site and support system-wide teen membership goals.
• Teen Attendance (After School ADA): Meet assigned Average Daily Attendance (ADA) goal of 60 teens per site and support organizational attendance benchmarks.
• Non-School Day Participation: Support 50–100+ teens per non-school day, based on assigned Club programming and organizational expectations.
• Career & College Readiness Programming: Ensure successful implementation and participation in Career Bound programming, including annual participation goals of 50 teens in Career Launch, Transfr, Money Matters, and Diplomas to Degrees.
• Scholarships & Postsecondary Preparation: Support the completion of 90 scholarship applications annually while assisting members with college applications, FAFSA completion, and postsecondary planning.
• Youth Leadership & Service: Maintain active Keystone and Torch Clubs aligned with BGCA

charter expectations and support 700 annual teen service-learning hours.

• Postsecondary Outcomes: Support the successful placement of 50 seniors annually into postsecondary pathways, including college, career, military, technical education, apprenticeships, or workforce opportunities.
• Data & Program Accountability: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all program services, participant outcomes, and performance metrics while maintaining compliance with grant, organizational, and reporting requirements.

Relationships:

• Internal: Maintain close daily contact with club staff, and supervisor to receive/provide information and discuss issues.
• External: Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools’ external staff, volunteers and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, four-year university or college in a field related to education (or combination of AA degree and 5+ years of youth development experience) preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Project Management processes and concept development knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of post-secondary education application and FAFSA process.
• Knowledge of Palm Beach County high school education system and related resources.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop & implement programs experience in staff management, performance evaluation, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Understanding of and commitment to outcome measurement.
• Experience working with at-risk youth.
• Strong personal commitment to BGCPBC’s mission and vision.
• Energetic collaborator skilled in building and facilitating relationships with BGCPBC staff, external staff, external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in mission advancement.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• CDL desired but not required.
