Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Job

Overview The Watson Institute’s Behavioral Health Services program is hiring a casual daytime Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for the Intensive Behavioral Health Service (IBHS) program. This casual position has a flexible daytime work schedule. Location: Wexford, PA (2605 Nicholson Road, Suite 3240, Bldg. 3 | Sewickley, PA) Employment Type: Seasonal Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Job Description Implement treatment plan objectives by working directly with children who have autism and related disorders in the IBHS program Provide direct one-on-one therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a Behavior Consultant Work with families to assist them in acquiring skills and enabling them to maximize their child’s progress and independence Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s progress and issues Provide services in the child’s home and/or community-based settings Supervise the child and maintain safety of the child while working in community-based settings Assist children in developing social skills and facilitate development of peer interactions Attend regular required supervision meetings, individual supervisory sessions, and required trainings Assist in implementing behavior management plans to enable the child’s participation in community-based settings Implement ABA intervention techniques Maintain therapeutic records and data necessary to monitor progress Complete daily progress notes Turn in progress notes and paperwork into the office on time per department policy Other duties as requested BHT Job Requirements One of the following educational/experience qualifications is required: Certification as a BCaBA Certification as an RBT Certification as a BCAT Behavioral health certification or behavior analysis certification from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List (certification must include the name of the trainer who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA) Minimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services Ability to complete necessary training successfully Ability to keep up with running children and/or to lift, position, or assist with lifting students Ability to exert moderate physical effort in light work, including bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, kneeling, brisk walking, and lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects up to 40 pounds Current Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances required Availability to work a flexible work schedule #J-18808-Ljbffr the Watson Institute
