Job Overview: Elan Dental Group is seeking an experienced full-time Dental Assistant to join their private dental office team located in East Lansing, Michigan.
Core Responsibilities: The position involves directly supporting dentists during standard clinical examinations and complex treatment procedures, practicing four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently, and maintaining a sterilized clinical workspace.
Clinical Tasks: Responsibilities include operating digital dental X-ray equipment, utilizing 3D digital scanners for crown and bridge work, fabricating temporary crowns or bridges, and adjusting patient occlusal guards.
Patient Care: The assistant will educate patients on comprehensive oral hygiene, deliver precise post-operative instructions, comfortably address patient questions, and consistently monitor comfort levels during dental procedures.
Office Operations: Tasks include maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, assisting with necessary medical documentation, and effectively triaging emergency patient appointments.

• Experienced Dental Assistant (3+ years)
• General Dentistry
• Registered dental assistant / Certified dental assistant
• X-ray / Radiography Certification

Dental Assisting Experience: Requires a minimum of 3 years of dental assisting experience.
Clinical Competencies: Must possess knowledge of general dentistry practices, dental anatomy, terminology, and four-handed dentistry techniques.
Equipment Proficiency: Ability to take digital dental X-rays and have the ability or willingness to learn to operate a 3D dental scanner.
