This individual will be responsible for the design, optimization, maintenance, and facilitation of manufacturing processes for softgood components, tools, and equipment. Job responsibilities will include: drafting, review, and input into manufacturing instructions and procedures, inspection and disposition of softgoods, tools, and equipment, and Engineering Change (EC) incorporation. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will interface with technicians, design and material engineers, logistics, and production coordination personnel on a daily basis to perform job duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Define and write procedures to operate and maintain equipment, including fixtures and tooling developed to support repeatable soft goods assembly

• Review plans, inspect fabrications, conduct investigations, disposition non-conformances, and provide recommendations as necessary to assure compliance with design intent, requirements, regulations, guidelines, and procedures, applying root cause / corrective action (RCCA) methodology to soft-structure failure modes

• Lead configuration management and documentation maturity efforts for soft goods build packages, BOMs, and travelers

• Work with a multi-disciplinary team (design engineering, materials engineering, human factors, quality, logistics) to ensure smooth build processes and complete traceability, including lot traceability of fabric, adhesive, and consumable materials

• Support hardware through formal reviews (PDR/CDR, First Article Inspection, Qualification testing)

• Maintain awareness of all safety policies and procedures, as well as use of all required safety and personal protective equipment, including chemical/adhesive handling protocols

• Specifies training online, and in classroom, as required to maintain certifications to perform job functions

• Guide and support lower-level Manufacturing Engineers, including mentorship on soft-structure design and fabrication principles

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Houston,TX.
