Concordia at Sumner, a beautiful Continuing Care Retirement Community in Copley, Ohio, is in need of a Cook for our HealthCenter.

Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items for the HealthCenter as per daily menus.

The Cook will work both days and afternoon/evenings shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes. Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and sees that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal productions.
• Maintains a daily temperature log of foods served, coolers and freezers.

Experience

• Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• ServSafe certification preferred
• A minimum of three years experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant or similar institution
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and special diets.
• Must have basic math skills
