Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The OR RN will provide specialized perioperative nursing care in the operating room setting, supporting surgical teams across various procedures. This role requires a highly skilled and adaptable nurse to maintain patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist during surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any physiological changes throughout surgery.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies prior to procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff to facilitate smooth workflow and effective patient care.
• Document surgical procedures, patient responses, and post-operative care accurately in electronic medical records.
• Adapt to floating between units or sister facilities as needed to meet staffing demands.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid South Carolina or Compact Nursing license prior to start date.
• Possess a minimum of 4 years of recent operating room nursing experience.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Demonstrate competency in surgical asepsis, patient monitoring, and emergency response.
• Be able to work 5x8-hour day shifts with flexibility for weekend coverage and on-call duties.
• Have excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
