ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position involves providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, including reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
Titrate medications and manage drips, including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, and analgesics.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members for patient care planning.
Utilize telehealth resources to enhance patient care, particularly in rural settings.
Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Shift Details

Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Schedule: Days, with 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
Floating: May be required within Zone 4 based on organizational need

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
Required Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
Strong foundational knowledge in critical care nursing and patient management.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred.

Unit Overview

Type: General ICU with 10 beds
Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:2
Hospitalist or Intensivist present onsite for additional support.
Respiratory Therapy available 24/7.
Support staff, such as nurse aides, available as per volume needs.

Additional Information

Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available for shifts.
Mandatory weekend and holiday shifts as determined by department staffing needs.
Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs.
