ICU Float Registered Nurse Location Not specified Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Day and Night shifts available; 3x12 hour variable scheduling. Job Description The ICU Float Registered Nurse will provide effective and compassionate care across various intensive care units, including Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical ICU, and a Med-Surg Department. The role requires the ability to work under high-stress conditions with a focus on critical care patients, maintaining a high standard of nursing practice. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in accordance with established protocols and best practices in ICU settings. Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, including administering medications and managing ventilated patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services for optimal patient outcomes. Utilize advanced nursing skills such as titration of drips, interpretation of ABGs, and management of multimodal sedation protocols. Deliver education to patients and families regarding care plans and procedures. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of critical care nursing experience in ICU settings. Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; CCRN certification preferred. Experience with neuro and cardiac patient management is required. Proficiency in Epic charting system is mandatory. Must be able to float between various units as required by staffing needs.
