The business is continuing to grow and has recently secured additional customer volumes , creating the need to strengthen its Houston airfreight operation. About the Role The Airfreight Supervisor will act as a hands-on team lead , overseeing the day-to-day performance of the Houston airfreight team while remaining actively involved in operations. The position will oversee two Airfreight Coordinators , with the operation primarily focused on air exports , as well as providing oversight and support to a team member responsible for airfreight pricing. This role would suit an experienced airfreight professional who understands the full operational process, has strong pricing knowledge, and is ready to take greater ownership of a team and operation. Key Responsibilities Lead and support two Airfreight Coordinators across daily shipment activity Oversee primarily air export operations from booking through departure Remain hands-on with shipments and provide operational support when required Oversee the airfreight pricing function and support a dedicated pricing team member Review rates, routings, carrier options, and quotations to ensure competitive solutions Coordinate with airlines, trucking providers, warehouses, customers, and overseas offices Ensure export documentation and shipment files are completed accurately and compliantly Monitor workloads, shipment priorities, service levels, and operational performance Support the team with escalations, problem-solving, and time-sensitive shipments Maintain strong relationships with customers and service providers Work closely with local management as the Houston operation continues to grow Candidate Requirements Strong experience within international airfreight forwarding Good understanding of A-Z airfreight operations Previous airfreight pricing experience is required Experience with airline rates, quotations, routings, and carrier selection Previous supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience is preferred Comfortable leading a small team while remaining operationally hands-on Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Able to operate effectively within a busy and growing freight forwarding environment Must be based in or able to commute to Houston, TX What You Can Expect 100% onsite position based in Houston, TX Leadership responsibility across operations and pricing Hands-on role with ownership of the day-to-day airfreight function Join at a time of continued growth and additional business wins International environment with U.S. and overseas offices Opportunity to develop your leadership experience Genuine career growth potential for the right person #J-18808-Ljbffr Navitex | USA Freight Forwarding Recruitment Specialists
