Machinist

Schedule: * Full time, 40 hours/week Possible 5 hours of OT per week Job Description The Planet Group is Seeking an experienced Machinist with 6+ years of experience operating and setting up machine tools to manufacture precision metal components. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, operate both manual and CNC machinery, and ensure high-quality production standards. Responsibilities Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, milling machines, and CNC equipment Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Install and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces Monitor machining operations to ensure quality and efficiency Inspect finished parts for accuracy, tolerances, and defects Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting Maintain a safe and organized work environment Ensure all work meets production and quality standards Qualifications 6+ years of machinist or precision machining experience Experience operating both manual and CNC machines Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and measurement techniques Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Skills CNC programming or editing experience Knowledge of machining tolerances and quality inspection procedures Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments #J-18808-Ljbffr The Planet Group
