Details\n \n Work in a 39-bed mixed ICU unit (MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU) divided into pods \n Care for complex ICU patients including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and heavy trauma populations \n Common diagnoses include ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-cardiac cath, and multiple system trauma \n RN to patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and rarely 1:3 depending on acuity \n 12-hour night shifts, 48 hours per week \n Floating to any adult floor including MedSurg/Tele (1:4 ratio) possible if overstaffed, but uncommon \n No on-call requirements \n Every other weekend rotation attempted but not guaranteed \n Epic EMR required \n Alaris pumps in use, transitioning to Baxter pumps in October \n Omnicell system used for medication dispensing \n 24/7 respiratory therapy support and dedicated charge nurses on each ICU pod \n CNA and mobility float aide support available per unit \n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (South Dakota or Compact) required \n BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required \n TNCC certification required or must be willing to obtain prior to arrival \n Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, excluding travel assignments \n At least one prior travel assignment required \n Completion of an accredited nursing education program \n Epic EMR experience required \n Experience with IV vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics required \n Experience with hemodynamic lines, proning, and ventilator management required \n Telemetry experience required \n Strong critical thinking, assessment, and teamwork skills required \n Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity ICU environment \n Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT strongly preferred \n Cardiac ICU experience preferred, including CABG/TAVR post-op care \n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct critical care nursing across a mixed ICU population \n May be asked to precept nursing students \n Navy scrub color required \n Free parking available on site \n No RTO permitted during hospital-designated holidays \n No RTO permitted during the first three weeks of August due to the Sturgis Bike Rally \n Time off requests up to 7 days may be approved but must extend the contract to a full 13 weeks \n Travelers must live 100 miles away from any facility within the health system \n Permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a travel employee \n Facility is known for renewing travel contracts frequently \n \n \n American Traveler Job ID P-750223.
