Job Summary

In this exciting role at our skilled nursing facility, you'll assess patients' conditions and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create effective therapy plans. Essential Job Functions

• Revitalize Patient Lives: Assess and interpret patient needs, crafting dynamic treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
• Innovative Care: Evaluate current patient functioning, employing approved techniques and tests, and design personalized treatment programs for maximum function restoration.
• Empower Recovery: Administer tailored Occupational Therapy programs, utilizing diverse modalities for upper extremity function, sensory skills, and self-care.
• Foster Collaboration: Communicate therapy philosophy and goals passionately to patients, families, and the rehabilitation team, ensuring a shared vision.
• Coordinate Excellence: Collaborate seamlessly with Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Nursing departments for integrated patient care.
• Safeguard Confidentiality: Uphold the value of our healthcare organization by ensuring confidential handling of patient information.
• Inspire Team Success : Supervise and support Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring optimal productivity and quality care.
• Champion Documentation: Complete clinical and billing documentation promptly, utilizing cutting-edge technology to enhance client care.
• Elevate Expertise: Actively engage in educational workshops, review professional publications, and establish networks to stay at the forefront of occupational therapy practices.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

• Embrace Lifelong Learning: Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy school with a valid license for the state.
• Hands-On Experience: Preferred experience in acute care, long-term care, or rehabilitation (but not a deal-breaker).

The various responsibilities for an Occupational Therapist are often physically demanding and require that therapists be in good physical condition.

• Empowered Patient Transfers: Independently execute max assist patient transfers (75% employee, 25% patient), showcasing strength and capability.
• Masterful Patient Positioning: Skillfully position and transfer patients, supplies, and equipment with ease.
• Sensory Excellence: Leverage keen visual acuity and hearing to deliver top-notch therapy skills.
• Strength in Motion: Embrace the challenge of heavy work, exerting force up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly, ensuring a vibrant and active work environment.
