We use applied research and development combined with novel systems integration to enhance capabilities of our armed forces.Position: Electromagnetic Warfare Systems EngineerLocation: Auburn, AL, Aberdeen, MDJob Type: Full-timeJob Description:IS4S is seeking an Electromagnetic Warfare Systems Engineer in Auburn, AL or Aberdeen, MD to assist design, development, integration, and deployment of integrated, multi-domain EW solutions supporting Army and Joint warfighting functions. The person or persons filling this position will join an existing, multi-disciplinary team to perform design and system engineering activities supporting Command and Control (C2) and EW operations that enhance our nation’s security. Responsibilities include the following:Understanding EW operations across warfighting functions to drive capability concept development, implementation, and integrationWorking with government and industry partners to identify integration paths and interoperability needs between EW and other systemsSupport software architecture design, creating use cases and user stories, requirements definition, capturing implementations, creating test plans, testing, validating performance, and change managementHelp inform strategic and tactical visions for product and program directionCommunicating and interacting with customers, stakeholders, and other companiesThe challenges facing our nation are constantly evolving. Selected applicants will be expected to gain familiarity with the underlying domain (e.g., EW, Fires, PNT) and its role in the larger system of systems to incorporate warfighter needs throughout the solution. They will be given freedom to solve problems and develop solutions with the expectation of owning their tasks and responsibilities. They will also integrate into an existing team that provides support and to ensure designs and solutions conform to and enhance the end product.Required Abilities, Experience, and Skills:Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related technical field (for full-time applicants)Experience with design, implementation, and testing of EW and RF systemsExperience defining integrations, including identifying existing pathways or developing new and feasible pathways, that enable interoperabilityBe outgoing and willing to engage customers and industry partners both professionally and tactfullyBe able to break down and communicate complex concepts to colleagues and stakeholdersExperience developing software documentation and system engineering artifacts, including architecture descriptions, algorithm descriptions, system/subsystem descriptions, interface control documents (ICDs), application programming interfaces (APIs)Have familiarity with programming languages and software designPossess knowledge of computing platforms and environments, particularly cloud-based environments, computer network protocols, routing, and IP-based communicationsAbility to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal directionMust be able to travel to support customer engagements, integration and testing in live environments, occasionally working non-standard hours to match exercise schedulesMust be able to lift and carry computing and networking equipment in support of transit and installationPossess strong written and verbal communication skillsUS Citizenship is requiredDesired Experience and Skills:Experience with warfighting functions such as Fires, Air and Missile Defense, Intel, and Spectrum Operations in or across ground, sea, air, space, and cyber domainsPrior military or government experience with a focus in EW, SIGINT, ELINT, communications, and/or command and controlHigh proficiency programming languages and build tools (e.g., C++, Golang, cmake)Understanding of containerization, management, and software deployment (especially using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm), in cloud to edge compute environmentsUnderstanding of tactical networks, including enterprise, satellite, terrestrial, and mobile, ad hoc networks (MANETs)Familiarity with standard DevSecOps practices and platforms (e.g., git, CI/CD pipelines, vulnerability scanning, etc.)Benefits Summary:Competitive salary with comprehensive health and wellness benefitsDynamic and collaborative work environmentEmployee ownershipMedical, dental, and vision care plansPaid time-off and parental leave programsGroup term life insurance401(k) retirement planTuition Assistance, Training, and education development offerings
