Chief Deputy Finance

POSITION: Chief Deputy - Finance DEPARTMENT: Clerk WORK SCHEDULE: M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM JOB CATEGORY: Exempt SALARY: Up to $60,000 annually STATUS: Full-time Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred. Five years of finance experience required. Requirements Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency. Public service orientation and commitment to excellent and genuine customer service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software. Thorough knowledge of payroll tax and compliance standards. Essential Job Duties Working under the direct supervision of the County Clerk, the person in this position will perform the following: Reviews and manages departmental payroll and timekeeping records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with county policies and procedures. Monitors and processes departmental accounts payable activities, including invoices, reimbursements, and vendor payments. Assists with departmental budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting activities. Supports grant research, grant application preparation, and monitoring of grant expenditures and reporting requirements. Coordinates with Human Resources, department leadership, and staff regarding payroll, budgeting, grant, and financial matters. Corresponds and problem solves in a professional manner with staff, co-workers, department leadership, vendors, and outside agencies. Other duties as assigned.
