Mechanical Maintenance Technician - 2-2-3 Shift & Benefits

This position offers a competitive benefits package and hourly rate of $28.96 - $31.36 BOQ. Georgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Technician in San Leandro, CA. We need skilled individuals who can troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment while following safe work practices. This role adds value by performing preventive and corrective maintenance to increase uptime and reliability, helping the facility meet its production and quality goals. What You Will Do In Your Role Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures. Help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals through a quality maintenance program. Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings. Perform all maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner. Upload/download and research online the necessary software, maintenance and operation manuals for equipment to aid in tasks. Perform tasks requiring lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, high-volume environment. Maintain a safe working environment by strictly following safety rules and regulations and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. Follow a 2-2-3 shift schedule (5am-5pm or 5pm-5am). Basic Qualifications Minimum of one year of mechanical industrial manufacturing experience. Experience with preventive maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment. Preferred Qualifications Mechanical certification, technical schooling earned or other related educational certifications/degrees. Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry. Proficiency in mechanical areas such as fasteners, hydraulics/pneumatics, hoisting/rigging, alignment/couplings, lubrication, bearings/seals, mechanical drive systems, blueprints/drawings, precision measuring tools, welding/fabrication, pipefitting, pumps, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
