Key Responsibilities

• Collect and sort used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for decontamination.
• Manually clean supplies to remove contaminants and waste, while operating and maintaining decontamination machinery.
• Prepare and package supplies for sterilization processes.
• Monitor and operate sterilization equipment to ensure proper function.
• Inspect supplies carefully to confirm they are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Test sterilization equipment regularly and report any malfunctions promptly.
• Sterilize, prepare, wrap, and organize instruments into trays for medical procedures.
• Prepare necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, and medical carts.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and supply inventories.
• Manage inventory control, reorder supplies as needed, and monitor expiration dates.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and values.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Previous experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare environment is preferred. Certification such as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent is advantageous.

Requirements
