We are currently seeking a Payments Solutions Architect to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina (US-NC), United States (US).

As a Financial Services Payments Consulting Manager – Payments Solutions Architect, your expertise and leadership will significantly contribute to our firm's success and strategic objectives. Your insights and contributions will enhance our firm's reputation, influence industry trends, and position us as leaders in the payments consulting space and you will play a critical role in driving our firm's growth, delivering exceptional value to clients, and shaping the future of payments consulting.

We are seeking an experienced Payments Solution Architect to work as a consultant designing and delivering modern, scalable payment solutions across multiple payment rails. This role partners with financial institutions, fintechs, and internal teams to architect end-to-end payment platforms that are secure, resilient, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design solutions across ACH, wire payments, SWIFT, and real-time payment rails (e.g., RTP, FedNow).
• Lead current-state assessments and define target-state architectures aligned to business and regulatory requirements.
• Design modern, API-driven, cloud-ready and/or on-prem payment platforms, including integration patterns and data flows.
• Advise on payment modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, vendors, and operations teams to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Produce high-quality architecture artifacts (solution designs, diagrams, interface specifications, and architecture decision records).
• Ensure solutions meet security, resiliency, compliance, and performance standards.

Required Skills:

• Ability to translate business requirements into clear, pragmatic technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills with experience working in client-facing or consulting roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in payments, banking technology, or financial services systems.
• 4+ years of proven hands-on experience architecting solutions for ACH, wires, SWIFT, and real-time payment rails.
• 4+ years end-to-end payment processing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
• 4+ years of experience designing modern architectures using APIs, microservices, and event-driven patterns.
