As a contract paraprofessional, you'll be instrumental in helping a student navigate both academics and behavioral challenges in a nurturing and structured environment. School days run from 8:45 am to 3 pm, providing a consistent schedule ideal for work-life balance.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting, preferably with students who have special education needs
• Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and academic support techniques
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff
• Patience, empathy, and flexibility when responding to student needs
• Ability to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) under guidance from special educators
• High school diploma or GED; additional education or relevant certifications are a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Work one-on-one with a middle school student, assisting with classwork, organization, and following classroom routines
• Offer positive reinforcement and de-escalation support during challenging moments
• Support the student during transitions between classes and activities
• Collaborate with teaching and support staff to carry out behavior and learning plans
• Encourage a supportive, inclusive atmosphere within the school community
• Assist the student in building social, emotional, and academic skills for greater independence
