Senior Network EngineerOur work depends on a Sr. Network Engineer with TS/SCI security clearance and willing to take CI Polygraph in joining our team to support our intelligence customer activities in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.What you get to do every day:Support customer's Data Center network, application delivery, and network security environments to include operations and maintenance (O&M), system integration/deployment and solution development/designProvide tier III SME level support within the incident management processWork independently with project stakeholders, system owners, project managers, and technical staff to deploy or enhance IT solutionsCoordinate with project staff for solution development and deployment while managing project aspects within applicable technical area of responsibilityCollaborate with system engineers across teams and disciplines to ensure solutions meet established technical goals and are deployed within established timelinesEvaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to stakeholders regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing networkDevelops and implements methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networksDiagnosing hardware and software problems and replacing defective componentsSupport operations and maintain activities and administer networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurationsEnsure systems are integrated with existing performance and availability management frameworkSchedule and coordinate system changes within the established change management frameworkEvaluate new system hardware and software to ensure optimal integration with existing hardware and compliance with customer standardsPrepare technical proposals for presentation to the engineering review boards for adding new technologies to the networkPerform a full range of upgrades in accordance with existing network architectureReview user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirementsPerform long term O&M activities to include tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolutionInterface with external tier 4 support staff and vendor support as required for problem resolutionUtilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situationsPrepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levelsDevelop and document standard operating procedures (SOP) for use by technical support staffProvide fault management for the network and supports performance management functions.What you need:10 years of experience preferred with several years focusing specifically on data center networking and technologiesSME level understanding and experience with dynamic routing protocols to include OSPF and BGPSME level understanding of data center technologies. Familiarity with EVPN, VXLAN, Cisco vPC, ACI, F5 load balancing and RSTP is a plusUnderstanding and experience analyzing TCP/UDP application flow using external network analyzers along with built-in network switch/router diagnostic toolsFamiliarity with DOD STIGs and SD-WANExperience with MS Visio and documenting network architectures and application flowsStrong oral and written communication skillsEffective at communicating technical ideas through presentations, documentation, meetingsLearn and evaluate new technologiesResponsible for managing their own projects from start to finish so initiative, time management, and attention to detail are critical traits and skillsWhat would make you stand out:Professional or expert level certifications (at a minimum CCNP, F5-CTS or JNCIP) - CCIE/F5-CSE/JNCIE preferredExperience with Cisco, F5, Juniper and Palo Alto hardware and operating systems is a plusAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $140-$150k.
