Aircraft Weapon Technician

Performs duties of an Aircraft Weapon Technician under the guidance of an Aircraft Weapon Gun Crew Leader. Performs a variety of tasks associated with aircraft weapons and related munitions testing. Transports, emplaces, operates, and recovers a variety of aircraft mounted and ground fired weapon systems. Uses an M1A1 gunner quadrant to align mobile, ground-launched rocket launchers both NATO and foreign varieties. Following applicable TMs and SOPs, prepares ammunition for firing, loads, and downloads weapon systems such as Hydra 2.75-inch rockets, guided missiles, 20mm and 30mm guns on attack and scout helicopters, and small arms up to .50 caliber. Supports test missions using ground based laser designator system, operated both remotely and manually. Operates a variety of electronic equipment such as oscilloscopes, intrinsically safe multi-meter, and assists with electronic firing systems. Operates support equipment such as rough terrain forklift and overhead crane. Performs other duties required to complete mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
