Job Description

This role focuses on building complex precast concrete panels using detailed shop drawings from an internal engineering team. You will construct a wide variety of forms on a daily basis and play a critical part in the production process, taking pride in precise, high-quality carpentry work.

Responsibilities

• Use approved piece tickets to construct forms for specific precast concrete panels in accordance with architectural specifications and applicable PCI requirements.
• Build multiple precast concrete forms each day to support high-volume production of precast panels.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, technical procedures, specifications, and piece tickets to ensure accurate form construction.
• Collaborate regularly with plant leadership to discuss anticipated production sequences, identify potential form construction issues, and suggest improvements to work processes and workflow.
• Provide timely information to leadership about the inventory status of all form-related materials so supplies can be ordered to support scheduled work.
• Properly use, maintain, and care for hand tools and power tools, ensuring all safety guards and equipment are in place and functioning.
• Independently manage personal carpentry workload to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Arrive consistently and punctually in line with company attendance policies.
• Work effectively as a team player with a group of 5–8 colleagues to build forms and support overall plant production.
• Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with the Company Safety Manual and under the guidance of the Plant Safety Coordinator.
• Follow all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to plant safety procedures.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of three years of recent general carpentry experience.
• Minimum of three years of rough carpentry experience.
• Minimum of three years of finish carpentry experience.
• Minimum of two years working with finish carpentry products such as cabinetry and other forms of woodworking.
• Proficiency in framing, general construction, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and specifications.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and piece tickets.
• Experience working with precast concrete and concrete-related projects.
• Skilled in the safe and effective use of hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to build multiple forms per day while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Strong reliability and work history with good job tenure and minimal job hopping.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a production or plant environment is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a team setting with 5–8 colleagues on shared projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with plant leadership regarding workflow and inventory needs.
• Attention to detail and pride in workmanship, particularly in finish carpentry and cabinetry.
• Strong organizational skills to manage personal workload and meet production schedules.
• Commitment to following safety policies and procedures in an industrial environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a fully enclosed indoor plant environment where temperatures can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. You will work closely with a team of 5–8 people building forms and collaborating with a carpenter foreman and overall plant leadership. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential for up to 10 hours of overtime per week. The position requires industrial attire, including steel-toed boots, a hard hat, a high-visibility shirt, and long work pants, in alignment with plant safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Omaha,NE.
