Seekinga Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician in Lufkin, TX to provide ongoing24-hour call coverage. This opportunity is ideal for a fellowship-trainedcardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgeon who is comfortable managing inpatientcardiovascular surgical patients, handling emergent surgical needs, andparticipating in call coverage within a collaborative hospital environment.

Coverageis needed beginning June 26, with additional ongoing opportunities availablebased on the permanent physician's schedule.

Coverage Dates: Starting 6/26 at 7:00 AM through 7/6 at 7:00 AM
Ongoing future coverage opportunities available
Shift Type: 24-Hour On-Call Coverage
Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
Weekend Coverage: Required
On-Call Requirements: Yes

ClinicalResponsibilities

Provide inpatient cardiovascular surgical coverage and call services
Evaluate and manage cardiovascular surgery patients
Perform emergent and urgent cardiovascular surgical procedures as needed
Collaborate with hospital staff, surgical teams, and critical care providers
Participate in postoperative management and patient rounding
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the EMR system

Average daily patient volume: 10-15 patients

CallbackExpectations

Average weekday callback hours: approximately 5.36 hours
Average weekend callback hours: approximately 4.7 hours

Qualifications

MD or DO required
Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Surgery
Fellowship training in Cardiovascular Surgery or Cardiothoracic Surgery required
Active Texas medical license required
Current BLS certification required
Current ACLS certification required
