You Thrive Florida is looking for an outgoing, engaging, and relationship-driven PFCE Coordinator to lead family engagement and community partnership efforts across our Early Learning Programs. This highly visible, regional role is responsible for building strong connections with families, staff, and community partners, leading trainings and events, and advancing parent leadership and school readiness outcomes. The ideal candidate is confident, self‑directed, adaptable, and energized by working in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment. Frequent travel throughout Hernando, Sumter, and Volusia counties is an essential part of this role, so this opportunity is best suited for someone who enjoys being in the field representing the organization and building strong connections. Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm. Position Summary The Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Coordinator is a highly visible, relationship‑driven professional responsible for leading and advancing family engagement and community partnership efforts across You Thrive Florida’s Early Learning Programs. This position ensures full implementation of the Head Start PFCE Framework, delivering services that are systemic, integrated, and outcome‑focused to strengthen family well‑being, promote parent leadership, and support school readiness. The PFCE Coordinator collaborates closely with ERSEA leadership, Family Advocates, and program staff while actively engaging families and community partners across multiple counties. It is a multi‑site, regional role based in either Hernando or Volusia County, requiring frequent travel and a proactive individual who thrives in building connections, leading engagement efforts, and representing the organization in diverse community settings. Design, implement, and monitor program‑wide PFCE strategies that promote family well‑being, positive parent‑child relationships, and family leadership outcomes. Analyze family engagement data, community assessment findings, and program reports to drive strategic decision‑making and continuous program improvement. Lead and facilitate the PFCE Committee, ensuring cross‑functional collaboration and integration of family engagement efforts across all service areas. Oversee and ensure compliance of Parent Committees and Policy Council processes, including elections, participation, and leadership development. Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development of Policy Council members and parent leaders to strengthen meaningful parent voice in program governance. Partner with Family Advocates and site leadership to design and deliver impactful parent trainings, family engagement activities, and leadership opportunities. Develop and implement targeted strategies to increase engagement of fathers and male figures, including planning and leading fatherhood‑focused initiatives and events. Build and sustain strong partnerships with community organizations to expand access to resources that support family stability, health, and education outcomes. Serve as a visible, professional representative of the organization at community events, outreach efforts, and family engagement initiatives across all service areas. Lead recruitment and outreach strategies that promote enrollment, increase community awareness, and ensure program accessibility for eligible families. Establish and maintain systems to track, monitor, and report family engagement activities, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation in ChildPlus. Develop and manage strategic communication and outreach efforts, including social media and digital platforms, to increase engagement, promote PFCE initiatives, and strengthen connections with families and the community. Utilize data and engagement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and continuously improve outreach and engagement efforts. Provide training and technical assistance to staff, parents, and community partners on PFCE, ERSEA, and family engagement best practices. Ensure all communication, outreach, and engagement strategies are culturally and linguistically responsive to the diverse populations served. Act as an advocate for families by supporting access to community resources that promote economic stability, health, and lifelong learning. Ensure consistency and fidelity of PFCE practices across all service areas, maintaining a unified approach to family engagement while adapting to community‑specific needs. Participate in ongoing monitoring, self‑assessment, and community assessment processes to strengthen program quality, accountability, and outcomes. Maintain confidentiality of all family, staff, and program information. Participate in required safety, emergency, and fire drills. Maintain effective working relationships with staff, families, and community partners. Comply with all Head Start, federal, state, and local regulations, including Head Start Performance Standards. Use and follow the policies/practices of You Thrive Florida, including Personnel Policies, Occupational Health and Safety policies, payroll policies/practices, etc. Job Standards Education : Minimum requirement of an Associate’s degree with human services, social work, or related field preferred. Employee will obtain certification in First Aid/CPR. Within 90 days of employment, employee must begin at least one of the DCF Child Care training courses listed in S.402.305(2)(d), Florida Statutes. Within eighteen (18) months of hire, employee will complete Head Start/Early Head Start required certification hours. Employee must complete the Head Start/Early Head Start mandated 55 hours of Florida DCF Child Care Training as outlined in the Family Advocate Career Advancement Criteria. Employee will obtain certification in ERSEA within 1 year of hire date and will maintain annually thereafter. Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in human services, early childhood, family services, or a related field required. Experience working directly with families, including engagement, support, or connecting families to resources required. Experience in community engagement, outreach, event coordination, group facilitation, or communication efforts, such as presentations or social media, preferred. Licenses & Certifications : Valid Florida driver’s license and be insurable by Company’s current insurance carrier. Subject to federal, state and local legal requirements/background checks for working with children. Critical Skills, Abilities, & Expertise Ability to work with limited direction. Knowledge of organizational methods. Skills in completing work with a high degree of accuracy. Skill in developing policies, procedures and/or systems for implementing programmatic functions. Ability to evaluate programs and situations and make decisions for improvement. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with people, including co‑workers, parents, and children. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Ability to use and operate a personal computer. Skills in public speaking and public relations. Ability to work with children with special needs. Knowledge of disability and mental health issues and practices. Ability to maintain child and parent confidentiality. Ability to provide counseling or crisis intervention. Knowledge of community resources. Strong relationship‑building and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across diverse families, staff, and community partners. Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead training, meetings and events. Ability to promote family engagement, parent leadership, and community collaboration. Ability to represent the program and organization professionally in diverse community settings. Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout service area. Environmental Job Factors Job Location : Primary location is the Early Learning Program facilities in Hernando, Sumter, and/or Volusia counties. Travel to sites within service areas is constant. Travel to other counties is frequent. Work Environment : Office environment, working alone and with others frequently. Working with office equipment is frequent. Occasionally outdoors and operating a vehicle.
