Job Responsibilities The Business Intelligence Engineer designs and develops data modeling for the data warehouse; monitors the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes; and provides technical support for the systems and Business Intelligence (BI) tools. Key Qualifications Knowledge: Database programming languages Relational database SQL and non‑relational database SQL Business Intelligence (BI), data lake, and data warehousing concepts and tools Components of business intelligence semantic model Databases, data queries, data mining, data acquisition, and ETL strategies and tools Data analysis and root cause analysis Software engineering principles and skills working on Unix/Linux/Windows Operating systems, Version Control, and Office software Data platform support in cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, etc. Reporting analytics and data visualization tools Principles and concepts of data design patterns for organizing data lakehouses such as Medallion Architecture Competencies: Critical Thinking – Analytically and logically evaluating information, propositions, and claims Professional & Technical Expertise – Applying technical subject matter to the job Action & Results Focus – Initiating tasks and focusing on accomplishment Adaptability – Responding positively to change and modifying behavior as required Attention to Detail – Focusing on the details of work content, work steps, and final work products Innovation – Imagining and devising new and better ways of doing things Oral Communication – Engaging effectively in dialogue Customer Focus – Attending to the needs and expectations of customers Teamwork – Collaborating with others to achieve shared goals Leveraging Technology – Applying technology for improvements in organizational efficiency and effectiveness Project Management – Planning and tracking projects to ensure they are on time, on budget, and achieve their objectives Cultural Proficiency – Modeling communications and interactions that respect and include all individuals and their languages, abilities, religions and cultures Required Education and Experience Five years of business intelligence data and reporting experience, including three years designing and implementing data warehouses, data mining, ETL, and BI. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, management information systems, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Additional Requirements A valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation or ability to obtain transportation between job sites. Hybrid remote schedules may be available.
