Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is a night shift position offering 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:30. The ideal candidate will be required to work on key holiday dates including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day to qualify for holiday pay.

Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years required in NICU/PICU setting
• Certifications: Current New Mexico Respiratory Therapy License, RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Experience with trauma level I preferred
• Must have a deep understanding of pediatric critical care, including skills in endotracheal tube placement, suctioning, extubation, and airway management
• Self-rated 4 or higher on High Frequency Jet Ventilator (HFJV) and High Frequency Oscillator (HFOV) is required
• Must have experience with inhaled Nitric Oxide (iNO)

Job Expectations

Travelers will be expected to adapt to the needs of the unit, including floating to the adult RRT unit as necessary. Weekend shifts are required as needed, with a guideline that travelers will not work more than 3 weekends in a row. Orientation and training modules are part of the onboarding process, to ensure readiness for the position.

Patient Demographics

The daily census ranges from 6 to 10 ventilated patients including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.

Important Notes

• No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be considered.
• COVID-19 vaccination is optional, though reporting is required.
• A 6-month break is required for any travelers who have completed 4 consecutive assignments or reached their one-year mark.
• Guaranteed hours: Minimum of 36 hours per week, with the understanding that the facility may call off staff up to 3 times throughout a 13-week assignment.
