Role Description The Marketing & Social Media Specialist develops and executes marketing campaigns that grow engagement, drive event ticket sales, and support client growth across Anchorage Daily News, Peak2Peak Events, and Elevate Digital Marketing Solutions. This role manages social media content, paid social campaigns, and email marketing for company brands and agency clients. Responsibilities also include promoting the ADN Store, providing live event coverage, and using performance data to improve results. The position requires a creative, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of projects, manages multiple brands and deadlines, and consistently delivers accurate, polished, client-ready work. Key Responsibilities Event Marketing Develop and execute social media and email campaigns to drive event ticket sales and attendance. Build promotional timelines in coordination with the events and marketing teams. Create engaging event content, including posts, reels, short-form videos, and live coverage. Represent company brands professionally at community events. Social Media and Content Management Manage and grow social media accounts for ADN brands and agency clients. Develop content calendars and create content tailored to each brand, audience, and platform. Write clear, engaging copy and produce visual content that supports campaign goals. Maintain brand consistency and review content for accuracy and quality before publishing. Paid Social Campaigns Build, target, and monitor paid campaigns in Meta Ads Manager. Coordinate campaign objectives, creative, audiences, and approved budgets with internal teams. Monitor campaign delivery and performance, making adjustments to improve results. Ensure advertising content aligns with brand standards and client expectations. Email Marketing and ADN Store Promotion Build and optimize email campaigns to increase engagement, ticket sales, and revenue. Coordinate campaign copy, creative, audience selection, and deployment schedules. Review and test emails before sending to ensure accurate content, links, and formatting. Support marketing initiatives that grow traffic and sales for the ADN Store. Performance Tracking and Improvement Track campaign performance using GA4, Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager, and email reporting tools. Evaluate results against campaign goals and identify opportunities to improve performance. Provide clear updates and recommendations to internal teams and clients as assigned. Apply findings to future content, audience targeting, and campaign planning. Collaboration and Project Management Work closely with events, sales, marketing, and agency teams to coordinate priorities and deliverables. Manage multiple projects, brands, and deadlines while maintaining quality standards. Communicate progress, obtain necessary approvals, and flag concerns early. Take ownership of assignments from initial planning through delivery and reporting. Qualifications & Other Responsibilities Experience 2+ years of experience in marketing, social media, or digital campaigns. Experience managing social content, email campaigns, and paid social advertising. Event marketing experience preferred. Content Creation and Communication Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to create engaging posts, reels, and short-form videos for different audiences. Comfortable representing a brand publicly and creating on-camera content. Photography and short-form video editing skills preferred. Technical Skills Experience using Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager, and email marketing platforms. Ability to use GA4 and campaign reporting tools to evaluate and improve performance. Canva or Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred. Organization and Accountability Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple brands and projects in a fast-paced environment. Proactive approach to meeting deadlines, solving problems, and delivering results. Ability to work independently and produce polished, client-ready work. Team Collaboration Ability to work effectively with internal teams and agency clients. Receptive to feedback and able to incorporate revisions accurately and promptly. Willingness to support on-site event coverage and promotional activities.
