Job Summary: Responsible for the management of dental sites to meet financial, quality, patient satisfaction goals, employee engagement, and retention. In partnership with the Vice President/Chief Dental Officer (VP/CDO), the Associate Dental Director (ADD), and the Director of Dental Operations (DDO), provides managerial leadership to ensure the implementation of the CHC Mission and Strategic initiatives, and ensures optimum employee satisfaction by building and maintaining a working environment of trust, open communication, and respect for each employee. Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties: Oversees the management of dental sites including both Operations and Clinical teams Management responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provides supervision, training, and evaluation of all staff within the dental center in collaboration with other management personnel Facilitates the professional development and ongoing training of team members. Monitors and ensures compliance with the following requirements: Employee performance management Coaching session Timely and accurate notes Hires, disciplines, and terminates staff in partnership with HR and in accordance with legal requirements and corporate policies and procedures Initial recipient of callouts for direct reports and responsible for coordinating staff and provider coverage Maintains knowledge of, adheres to, enforces, and ensures compliance with CHC policies and procedures. This includes Progressive Discipline/Termination; Time, Attendance & Punctuality; HIPAA Medical Records, Incident Reporting, Infection Control, Safety, Workplace Violence, etc. Maintains knowledge of and adheres to corporate policies related to Risk Management, HRSA, OSHA and VFC requirements Responsible for maintaining and updating knowledge of all new and existing policies and procedures and participating in education of staff Meets regularly with center leaders and team members to communicate corporate direction and performance feedback. Develops dental schedules and monitors overtime of assigned staff. Supervises the Dental Operations Reports for accountability. Completes assigned EClinical Works (eCW) actions in a timely manner. Facilitates and coordinates patient transfers between dental locations and/or providers to support continuity of care and ensure appropriate follow-up. Oversees dental web inquiries and email communications, ensuring requests are addressed timely and escalated or routed appropriately. Leads and coordinates mock surveys to evaluate operational and regulatory readiness, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented and monitored. Creates workflows and ensures compliance with workflow processes Collaborates with leaders across the organization to identify objectives and strategies. In areas such as performance improvement in care coordination, communications, and management of patient care (Examples of strategies include huddles, one-on-one communication, regular site meetings to communicate and address patient care and operational requirements) In partnership with the VP / CDO, ADD, and the DDO, ensures the dental sites are meeting department and organizational goals. This includes strategic initiatives, turnover, financial requirements, and productivity. Seeks guidance from the DDO, and appropriate internal resources, such as Human Resources and Finance. Receives and resolves patient and staff concerns and applies problem solving strategies and techniques. Keeps VP/CDO, ADD, and DDO informed of any patient and staff concerns. Assists with project management initiatives and implementation of goals and objectives Modify templates as needed to support productivity. Monitors and approves purchasing processes for assigned areas in conjunction with the VP/CDO, ADD, and DDO Participates in patient centered marketing activities in accordance with approved marketing plans and community events Monitors and provides periodic written and verbal reports on the status of the center's performance and key opportunities In partnership with the VP/CDO, ADD, and DDO, monitors reports/dashboard to identify variances in center performance and coordinates with other leaders to address successes and deficiencies Ensures center compliance with regulatory and grant requirements Maintains all necessary information brochures, accreditation documents, and other information Performs other duties as assigned Excellent leadership organizational and time-management skills Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with computer applications and healthcare software, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Proficiency in creating clear, professional PowerPoint presentations. Physical Requirements & Health Safety: Standing for moderate periods of time Sitting for moderate periods of time Stretching Lifting a minimum of 5-20 pounds Transporting a minimum of 5-20 pounds short to moderate long distances Operating automobile for CHC business Working with small implements requiring accuracy and precision Operating equipment (computer, keyboard, scanner, calculator, copier, printer, etc.) Reading forms/instructions/technical information Following non-technical/technical directions Speaking understandably to people of various ages, educational levels, cultural backgrounds in person/by telephone Hearing verbal conversations with people of various ages, educational levels, cultural backgrounds Making decisions with minimal guidance Interacting with community groups and organizations Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Four (4) years of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of a specialized bachelor's degree. Experience: A minimum of 3 years supervisory and clinical experience in a practice management or healthcare setting is required. Certification/Licensure: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), or commensurate experience in the dental profession.
