Maintenance Assistant

Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. We conduct operations within Alaska as around the world, utilizing our fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Lynden Air Cargo is looking for a Seasonal Maintenance Assistant who is a detail-oriented, hands-on problem solver.

This entry-level position supports the Maintenance Department at our Anchorage station , assisting with routine maintenance tasks and helping ensure the smooth operation of daily activities. As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll gain valuable experience in aviation maintenance while working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about safety, precision, and performance.

This is a seasonal position, with employment beginning in June through August, dependent on operational needs.

The essential duties of this position are:

• Perform all assigned work in accordance with Lynden Air Cargo's General Maintenance Manual (GMM) and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
• Conduct routine shop maintenance under direct supervision, appropriate to your training level and demonstrated skills.
• Work independently on assigned tasks under the guidance of a Lead Mechanic or designee. Tasks may include shop and aircraft parts cleaning, FOD patrol, and general housekeeping.
• Report abnormal conditions or discrepancies to supervisory personnel.
• Participate in on-the-job training toward obtaining Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
• Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as needed in support of the maintenance team.

Additional requirements are:

• Must furnish all hand tools of the variety and quantity required to properly perform assigned tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including, but not limited to, maintenance manuals, wiring schematics, and structural repair manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays and to be away from home for extended periods.
• Current US Driver's License
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
