We are seeking a dedicated and holistic-minded Refill Coordinator to join our functional medicine practice.The Refill Coordinator is responsible for processing prescription refill requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations, and providing excellent service to patients and providers. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Prescription Management : Process and verify prescription refill requests promptly and accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Patient Communication : Contact patients to confirm refill details, resolve inquiries, and provide updates on the status of their requests. Provider Coordination : Work with physicians and other healthcare providers to secure approval for prescription refills. Compliance : Ensure all refill requests adhere to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and state-specific requirements. Documentation : Maintain detailed and accurate records of all refill activities in the system. Problem Resolution : Address routine issues related to prescriptions and escalate complex matters to the appropriate team members. Workflow Adherence : Follow established workflows and protocols to streamline refill processing and reduce errors. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is required. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced healthcare facility, pharmacy, or administrative role. Familiarity with EHR systems and prescription management platforms is preferred. Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare software. Knowledge, or established willingness to learn, of medical terminology and prescription refill protocols.
